Metropolitan Chief Executive of Kumasi, Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, has directed the immediate eviction of all encroachers from public school lands across the metropolis.
His recent tour of basic schools revealed alarming levels of encroachment for unauthorized activities, including shelter, trading, mechanic works, drug peddling, and religious gatherings, which pose serious threats to safety, sanitation, and academic focus.
The Kumasi Mayor has tasked NADMO, the Physical Planning Department, and the Works Department to swiftly reclaim affected lands and restore a conducive learning environment for pupils and teachers.
He visited schools in the Subin, Bantama, Manhyia South, and North communities, including the Asem, Amankwatia, and State Boys/Girls clusters.
“We are not going to allow anyone to stay on school land in Kumasi; it’s adversely affecting education,” said the MCE.
