Kufuor worried about state of NPP – Okaikwei Central MP

-

Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Boamah, has revealed that former President John Agyekum Kufuor is deeply troubled by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) current state.

According to Mr. Boamah, as a founding figure of the NPP and a revered statesman, Mr. Kufuor has not hidden his discomfort with the party’s current direction.

He disclosed this during an interview on Accra-based Channel One TV, citing a recent conversation he had with the former President at a funeral.

“He is worried about the state of the party, that I can tell you for free,” Boamah stated. “I saw him on Friday at late Justice Gbadegbe’s funeral. The first question he’ll ask you is, ‘How is the party front?’ Because it is the party that made him. It is part of him, so he must be worried, Bernard,” he bemoaned.

Boamah’s comments come amid intensifying tensions within the NPP over its direction and leadership, sparking calls for reconciliation and a renewed focus on unity.
