Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to serve with sincerity and a spirit of unity, stressing that the true essence of governance goes beyond constructing offices and physical infrastructure.
Mr. Kufuor was speaking at the commissioning of a newly built Bantama Constituency office of the NPP, constructed by the Member of Parliament, Francis Asenso-Boakye, on Friday.
He highlighted the importance of reconciliation and good intentions in party affairs.
“The building is nice, but if the thoughts inside are not good, then what is the use? Things will never work,” he said.
He reminded party members that the NPP exists to serve a larger purpose, governance, and called for efforts to build trust and resolve internal disputes.
“What is the essence of a party? It is because of government that we have parties. So, unity is important. If you have people you can speak to and help change their minds, do so,” he added.
