The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Krachi Nchumuru, Martin Kofi Anato, has revealed plans to establish a 24‑hour market in Chinderi, the district capital, to boost local trade and stimulate economic growth.
Speaking during a meeting with members of the Christian and Muslim communities in Chinderi, Mr. Anato said the initiative aligns with President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy and responds to calls from farmers and traders who rely on the weekly Chinderi market, held every Tuesday.
He noted that the proposed market would allow small businesses—especially women traders—to extend their operations into the evenings and early mornings, creating greater opportunities for income generation.
Mr. Anato also assured residents, particularly the Muslim community, of his commitment to engaging them regularly in discussions aimed at advancing development in the district.
