The Acting President of the Krachi-Nchumuru Traditional Council, Nana Akwasi Omakomente, together with the people of Boraé-Ahenfie, is calling on security agencies to deliver justice in the case of their chief, Nana Kwame Mebo, and two of his family members, who were killed exactly three years ago.
Late Nana Mebo II, the Benkumhene of the Nchumuru Traditional Area, along with two others, were shot dead by unknown gunmen in Boraé-Ahenfie, a farming community in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region, on November 19, 2022.
Speaking to Adom News during the final funeral rites at Boraé-Ahenfie, Nana Omakomente appealed to the President, security agencies, and the Oti Regional Minister to take decisive action to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“The people of Nchumuru continue to suffer despite evidence being presented to security agencies. It is time the government acts to ensure justice is served,” he said.

He explained that after the killing, suspects reportedly ransacked the palace, looted and burned it, and stole the regalia and traditional insignia.
Nana Omakomente expressed concern that the suspects remain free, going about their daily activities and even threatening residents in the community. “Justice is the only way to reduce tensions and bring peace to our area,” he added.
The Acting President also urged the chiefs and people of Nchumuru to remain united, stressing that unity is crucial for their development. The final funeral for the late Nana Kwame Mebo, he noted, has helped strengthen communal bonds.
Residents, including Solomon Kwame Kosoe, voiced frustration that justice has still not been served three years after the incident. They recalled that the late chief was a unifier and emphasized the need for cohesion among the people. The community also called on the government to prosecute those initially arrested in connection with the murders to restore peace in the area.
