Former National Nasara Coordinator of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kamaldeen Abdulai, has raised serious concerns over the integrity of Ghana’s judicial system following the High Court ruling ordering a rerun of the 2024 parliamentary election in Kpandai.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Kamaldeen questioned how some individuals appeared to know the outcome of the judgment even before the court officially delivered its ruling. He described the development as alarming and a threat to public trust in the justice system.
“Even before the elements of the judgment came out, some NDC members were already saying how it would turn out. How did they get that information? It’s dangerous. Has the justice system been compromised?” he asked.
He warned that both the NPP and NDC are setting “bad precedents” that could undermine national stability if not urgently addressed.
“It’s looking like the NPP and NDC are preparing unhealthy grounds for Ghana. The way we are going, we will spoil this nation. People are beginning to lose confidence in the justice system,” he added.
Kamaldeen concluded by urging caution and the protection of the judiciary, stressing that the system is currently “troubled” and must be safeguarded.
