Newly recruited Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau has drawn comparisons between his playing style and that of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha.

The 20-year-old sealed a four-year move to the Porcupine Warriors from Berekum Chelsea, following a standout campaign in the just-ended Ghana Premier League season.

In his first interview with the club’s media team, Gyau expressed excitement about joining Kotoko and spoke confidently about his footballing style.

“I see my style of play akin to that of PSG’s Vitinha,” he said.

He also appealed to fans for their continued support, assuring them of his full commitment on the pitch.

“I will plead with the fans to keep supporting, and I will also do my best for the team.”

Gyau is in line to make his debut for Kotoko in the upcoming President’s Cup clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday, July 6.

Having made his breakthrough during the 2023/24 season at just 18, Gyau quickly became a regular for Berekum Chelsea, finishing with 27 appearances and emerging as a key figure in midfield.
