The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has handed Asante Kotoko a GHC10,000 fine following incidents during their recent clash with Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium.

In a statement released on Monday, January 5, the committee ruled that Kotoko failed to protect match officials, allowed fans to confront them, and permitted unauthorized access to restricted areas, including the players’ tunnel.

The club has been given 14 days to settle the penalty.

The sanction comes amid a difficult period for the Porcupine Warriors, who were beaten 2-1 by Swedru All Blacks in Matchday 17.

Kotoko will look to bounce back when they face Berekum Chelsea at home in Matchday 18 on Sunday, January 11.
