Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has reiterated his determination to keep his side in contention for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title despite their latest setback.

The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw by Berekum Chelsea in their Matchday 18 fixture on Sunday at Baba Yara Stadium, dropping two vital points at home.

Kotoko remain fourth on the league table with 31 points, six behind leaders Medeama SC as the title race heats up.

Although visibly disappointed after the match, Zito insisted the result would not derail his ambitions. “With all seriousness and honesty, I cannot accept this result, but it won’t stop me from fighting for the league title,” he said.

He added, “We have 16 matches remaining, and we must go back to work and ensure we win our away games to make amends.”

Zito will look to steer Kotoko back to winning ways when they face defending champions Bibiani GoldStars in their next league fixture.
