Interim Management Committee Chairman of Asante Kotoko, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, has expressed his excitement as the club gears up for the 2025 Toyota Cup showdown against South African side Kaizer Chiefs.
The much-anticipated clash is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
“It is with great joy and anticipation that we come to South Africa for the 2025 edition of the Toyota Cup,” Nana Apinkra said.
“Football has always been a powerful bridge between people and nations, and this event shows what is possible when sport is supported by vision and purpose.”
He further praised the organisers, saying, “We are proud to be part of this celebration of African unity and commend Toyota and Kaizer Chiefs for setting the standard for what African football can be.
“This is a big opportunity for us. We look forward to the trip and the game,” he added.
Asante Kotoko secured their place in the event after lifting the FA Cup, while Kaizer Chiefs earned their spot by winning the Nedbank Cup. Tickets for the match go on sale on June 26, 2025.
