A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team in the Korle Klottey constituency has issued a stern warning to assembly members following their rejection of the President’s nominee for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
In an interview with Adom News, the communications member expressed disappointment after the nominee failed to secure the required votes for confirmation.
Speaking to Adom News, the NDC communications member for Korle Klottey, Joseph Nartey, lamented the outcome, describing it as a setback for the municipality.
He cautioned that the party’s foot soldiers would not take lightly the decision by some assembly members to vote against the President’s nominee.
The confirmation process ended with 10 votes in favor and 7 against, falling short of the required threshold. The result sparked tensions among party members, leading to physical altercations.
The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings, alongside the Greater Accra Regional Minister, expressed disappointment at the outcome despite earlier appeals to the assembly members to confirm the nominee.
