Black Queens coach Kim Lars Björkegren has announced a 26-player squad for the upcoming Pink Ladies Cup in the United Arab Emirates as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The mini-tournament forms a key part of Ghana’s build-up to the continental showpiece next month, offering the technical team a valuable opportunity to fine-tune tactics and assess combinations ahead of the championship.
Björkegren has assembled a balanced squad, blending seasoned internationals with emerging prospects as he continues to mould a side capable of challenging Africa’s elite.
Among the experienced names included are Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Jennifer Cudjoe, Portia Boakye and Grace Asantewaa, all expected to provide leadership and stability within the group.
The squad also reflects a clear focus on youth development, with Alexandra Tay, Diana Amoako and Helen Alormenu earning call-ups. Their inclusion underscores the coach’s intention to build depth while gradually integrating fresh talent into the senior setup.
Following the Pink Ladies Cup, the Black Queens will round off their preparations with a friendly against Ivory Coast in Morocco before turning full attention to WAFCON.
With ambitions of reasserting themselves among the continent’s top sides, Ghana view the tournament in the UAE as a crucial step toward making a strong statement on the African stage.
