Aloman Limited has begun work on a new modern toilet facility for Islamic Basic School in Kenyasi No. 2 in the Ahafo Region.

This forms part of efforts to resolve long-standing sanitation challenges caused by the deteriorating state of the existing structures.

Speaking to Adom News, the CEO, Osman Adams, said the toilets currently used by both teachers and pupils have become unsafe and are affecting teaching and learning.

As part of the company’s corporate social responsibility, it is constructing a three-seater water closet each for male and female pupils, a one-seater each for male and female teachers, as well as urinals for the students.

He noted that the school, once regarded as one of the best in the Asutifi North District, has seen a gradual decline due to the absence of basic amenities such as proper sanitation facilities. He appealed for broader support to help restore the school’s standard.

Meanwhile, the Headteacher for the JHS department, Forson Asirifi, expressed appreciation to the company for the intervention, saying it will significantly enhance teaching and learning.

He explained that both teachers and pupils often leave the school during lessons to access toilets elsewhere because the facilities on campus have become dangerous and unusable.
