The Kasoa Ofaakor Circuit Court has remanded three suspects in connection with the kidnapping and human trafficking of 46 victims from neighbouring countries.
Presided over by Her Honour Asantewaa Atakorah, the court directed that the accused reappear on January 28, 2026.
The suspects—Amadidje Myorwer, Rashidi Vidome, and Eric Dossou Dave—are alleged to have lured victims from Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Togo into Ghana under false promises of facilitating travel abroad.
Upon arrival, the victims were reportedly kidnapped and defrauded under the pretext of securing overseas opportunities.
They have been charged with kidnapping and defrauding by false pretence. Following their arraignment, all three were remanded into police custody to assist ongoing investigations.
The Central East Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) rescued the 46 victims, and police say further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the full network behind the alleged trafficking operation.
