Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has apologised to supporters after the team suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to newly promoted Hohoe United.

The Porcupine Warriors, who were hoping to recover after their unbeaten run was halted by Young Apostles, fell behind to a first-half strike from William Oduro. The goal sealed a crucial win for Hohoe United and extended Kotoko’s winless run to four Premier League games.

Speaking after the match, Zito lamented his team’s uninspired first-half showing and expressed regret to the fan base.

“We didn’t play well in the first half, and I’m not happy about that,” he told the media.

“That is why I want to apologise to the fans. We are sorry, and we promise to make the necessary amendments,” he added.

The defeat leaves Kotoko in fifth place on the league table with 21 points. They will aim to bounce back when they host Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Stadium in their Matchday 14 fixture.
