Atalanta head coach Ivan Juric has described new signing Kamaldeen Sulemana as a talented player who is still a work in progress.
Sulemana, who recently joined the Serie A club on a long-term deal from Southampton, made his debut in Atalanta colours during a friendly match against the club’s U-23 side as part of their pre-season preparations.
Speaking to local media after the game, Juric acknowledged the Ghanaian winger’s raw talent but stressed the need for further development.
“Today, he showed some good things—acceleration and shots. In my opinion, he is a guy who needs to be developed. He is not a finished player, but he really wants to grow,” Juric said.
The 22-year-old, formerly of Stade Rennes, is expected to play a key role in Atalanta’s upcoming campaign and is being considered a potential replacement for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, who has been linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Atalanta will begin their 2025/26 Serie A season on August 24 with an opening match against Pisa.
