The 24-year-old had been linked with moves to Napoli and AS Roma during the winter transfer window, largely due to limited playing time. This season, Sulemana has featured in just 22 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals.
Atalanta’s resolve to keep him strengthened following Nigeria international Ademola Lookman’s move to Atletico Madrid. Despite reported interest from multiple clubs, the Serie A side is intent on holding on to their winger.
Insider Alessandro Giovanni Pagliarini revealed that Napoli secured a loan deal for Brazilian Alisson Santos from Sporting Lisbon, while AS Roma agreed terms to sign Bryan Zaragoza from Celta Vigo. These new signings appear to reduce the likelihood of Sulemana leaving before the winter window closes tonight.
Sulemana joined Atalanta from Southampton on a five-year contract worth up to £18 million. He will now focus on his club performances as he aims to earn a spot in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico this summer.
