KAA’s ‘Big Bang’ enters NPP flagbearer race in style

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former Press Secretary to the President HE JA Kufuor, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, has re-entered the political spotlight with a bold move ahead of the party’s next flagbearership contest.

Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and ex-Press Secretary to President John Agyekum Kufuor, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, is re-emerging on the political scene with strong indications of contesting in the NPP’s upcoming flagbearer race.

Popularly known as KAA, the respected engineer and politician is finalising work on his new campaign headquarters at Foire Heights, located on the Ring Road Central in Accra—a move being interpreted by political observers as a strategic step toward a serious comeback.

The development is seen as a “big bang” re-entry, designed to signal readiness, vision, and a renewed commitment to the party’s future direction.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Agyepong said the NPP—and Ghana at large—must return to their foundational values.

“It’s time to recalibrate both party and country. We need to renew ourselves and redefine what party politics and governance stand for—essentially, the welfare of the underprivileged,” he stated.

According to him, the country’s current challenges demand a new kind of leadership—one that is courageous, compassionate, and committed to national progress over personal interest.

“Ghana needs a leader with the vitality and versatility to confront today’s realities and shape a better future,” he added.

Mr. Agyepong’s anticipated re-entry is expected to stir interest within NPP ranks as the party prepares for its next major leadership transition.
