General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Akwatia MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi, describing his death as a huge blow to the party and the nation.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr Kodua said,
“Ernest Yaw Kumi was one of the most outstanding Members of Parliament among the new MPs. I still can’t believe he is gone. His death has deeply affected the party.”
The late Ernest Yaw Kumi, a first-time MP, died after a brief illness.
His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through Ghana’s political landscape, especially as he was actively involved in parliamentary duties just last week.
Tributes have poured in from colleagues, constituents, and political leaders, praising his humility, dedication, and service to the people of Akwatia.
