Professor Ransford Gyampo, Ag. Chief Executive of the Ghana Shippers Authority, has formally demanded a retraction and public apology from Dr. George Domfeh over what he describes as a deeply defamatory comment made on national television.
In a notice issued by his lawyers, Darko, Keli-Delataa & Company, Prof. Gyampo alleges that Dr. Domfeh, during an appearance on TV3’s The Key Point on Saturday, November 15, 2025, made remarks suggesting that he “sleeps with under-age girls”, a statement the legal team says was widely interpreted as an accusation of paedophilia.
According to the lawyers, what began as a policy and intellectual disagreement on the programme “became ascerbic, insulting and downright defamatory.”
They describe the comment as “reckless, patently false, malicious” and one that paints Prof. Gyampo as “hideously immoral and irresponsible.”
The letter stresses that Dr. Domfeh had “no basis in fact or in law” to make such an allegation and highlights the “extensive damage” caused to Prof. Gyampo’s reputation, given the national platform on which the statement was made.
The firm has demanded that Dr. Domfeh issue a full retraction and apology within 24 hours, to be published on a media platform of similar prominence to where the alleged remark was made.
Should Dr. Domfeh fail to comply, the lawyers say they have firm instructions from Prof. Gyampo to initiate legal action.
Copies of the letter have been sent to the producer of The Key Points at Media General.
