Juaboso District Assembly engages landowners on township layout and planning

The Juaboso District Assembly, under the leadership of District Chief Executive (DCE) Alexander Adu Quist, has initiated a crucial stakeholder engagement with landowners, traditional authorities, and residents to discuss community layout and town planning measures aimed at transforming the face of the Juaboso township.

The meeting, held within the community, focused on the importance of structured development as the area continues to experience population growth and infrastructural expansion.

It provided a platform for stakeholders to share perspectives on issues such as land use, proper road alignment, zoning for services, and environmental preservation.

Speaking after the session, DCE Alexander Adu Quist explained that the move is part of a broader strategy to prevent unplanned developments and slum formation.

According to him, town planning is not intended to infringe on the rights of landowners but to ensure that every parcel of land within the community is accessible and supported by basic amenities.

“This engagement is necessary to promote orderly development. When we align roads, set aside zones for utilities, and control building placement, it benefits everyone in the long run. It’s about improving livelihoods, safety, and access to infrastructure,” Mr. Quist noted.

The Chief of Sefwi Juaboso, Nana Ehwiama II, lauded the initiative and described it as a timely intervention.

He expressed optimism that the efforts by the Assembly would help address the rising concern of slum development and unregulated settlements within the community.

The engagement marks the beginning of a series of initiatives planned by the Juaboso District Assembly to modernize and sustainably develop the district’s urban spaces.
