Farmer and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has begun a community food support initiative across his constituency as the Christmas season approaches.

For the past two weeks, the MP has been distributing produce harvested from his own farm to residents in several communities, including American House, Westlands, Dzorwulu, and Tesano.

He described the gesture as part of his commitment to supporting households and easing the cost-of-living pressures facing many families.

Mr. Dumelo said the exercise will continue in the coming days, adding that more communities within the constituency will benefit as the festive season draws closer.

This latest outreach adds to similar interventions he has undertaken in recent months.

Earlier this year, the MP donated farm produce to school feeding caterers in the constituency after they raised concerns over rising food prices and operational challenges.

The support, he noted at the time, was to help ensure uninterrupted meals for pupils under the School Feeding Programme.

Residents have welcomed the ongoing Christmas distribution, with many saying the initiative reflects Mr. Dumelo’s consistent engagement with the constituency since assuming office.

The Ayawaso West legislator says his focus remains on providing practical support to improve the welfare of constituents while promoting agriculture as a viable livelihood.
