Renowned Kumawood actor, Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto has called on Ghanaians to plan towards their pension.
The comedian advised Ghanaian workers across the country to contribute immensely towards the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) scheme for a better pension package during retirement.
The primary responsibility of SSNIT is to replace part of lost income of workers in Ghana due to Old Age, Invalidity and permanent migration of an expatriate contributor from Ghana.
The Trust Scheme is also responsible to pay survivors lump sum to nominated dependents of contributors in the event of death.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Drive Time show ‘Ofie Kwanso’ with host Jerry Justice, the ‘Concert Party’ veteran underscored the need for the citizenry to especially workers to protect their future against uncertainties in life.
“Everyone should contribute to the SSNIT so that when you go on retirement you will be able to get some money to enjoy life…” he opined.
Nonetheless, Akrobeto further advised Ghanaians to be wary of accidents and misfortunes that are liable to occur ahead and during Christmas celebrations in the country.
He explained that, the Xmas season brings about massive celebrations and parties but one must be keen on ‘bitter’ encounters even in various joyous occasions to protect themselves against interactions that will likely invite harm upon their lives.
“We have Christmas coming up. It is a very interesting season for Ghanaians and the world as a whole. In every sweet moment, there are possibilities of bitterness too. My advice is that we have to watch our backs in every endeavour…” he advised.
“I will urge everyone to be careful. A year doesn’t delay in coming as such we have to take care of ourselves in our social interactions to see another year in good faith…” Akrobeto maintained.
