I’m willing to work with Otto Addo – Mali coach Tom Saintfiet

Mali head coach Tom Saintfiet has expressed willingness to work alongside Ghana coach Otto Addo, despite their recent clash in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The two managers faced off earlier this week at the Accra Sports Stadium during Matchday 8 of Group I, where Alexander Djiku’s 49th-minute header secured a narrow win for Mali, allowing Ghana to maintain its lead in the group.

Speaking to Adom TV’s Fire for Fire, the Belgian tactician praised Addo’s work and indicated he would welcome future collaboration.

“I would be glad to work with Otto Addo in the Black Stars’ coaching setup,” Saintfiet said.

Saintfiet, who previously guided Gambia to consecutive Africa Cup of Nations appearances, had also been considered for the Ghana coaching role and held extended discussions with the Ghana Football Association before Addo’s appointment in 2024.

For now, the two remain rivals on the touchline, but Saintfiet’s remarks highlight the mutual respect between the coaches amid the high-stakes World Cup qualifying campaign.
