For all who have eyes on Shatta Wale, the Dancehall King has left them disappointed with the surprising revelation that he is already married.
Gracing the studios of Joy Prime on Wednesday evening, the ‘Love Is a Medicine’ hitmaker confirmed that he is officially off the market after secretly tying the knot with his longtime lover, Maali.
Shatta Wale said the ceremony was deliberately kept away from the public eye to avoid the usual crowd and controversy that follow his every move.
“I am married already; I just decided not to make it public. I knew people would want to attend, but I did it privately,” he said with a grin.
According to him, after years of relationships and three baby mamas, he finally found “the one” in Maali.
To Shatta, the best decision he has made was seeking Maali’s hand in marriage because he felt it was the right and honourable thing to do.
He recounted visiting her family home with his kinsmen, where they presented drinks and officially sought her hand in marriage.
The most exciting part, he said, was the warm acceptance he received from Maali’s father, which has deepened his love and respect for her family.
But not one to settle for simplicity, Shatta revealed that plans are in the offing for a grand wedding ceremony.
The musician disclosed he is saving up for what he promises will be a grand, unforgettable church wedding, the kind that will leave even his critics speechless.
“Expect a church wedding soon. I’m saving for it because I want it very grand and flashy; one that won’t get anyone asking, ‘what kind of wedding is this?’ he teased.
Known for his love for showmanship, fans are already imagining a wedding that could rival Ghana’s biggest celebrity celebrations, complete with luxury cars and perhaps a live performance from the groom himself.
For now, Shatta Wale says he’s content enjoying his private life as a married man and father.
Shatta and Maali made their relationship public in 2023 after they were spotted looking loved-up at a public event.
