The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, on January 15, 2026, promoted thirty-five police officers in recognition of their exceptional performance in apprehending suspects linked to the Adabraka gold robbery in Accra.
The officers were honoured for demonstrating outstanding professionalism, dedication and teamwork during operations that led to the arrests following the high-profile daylight robbery at a jewellery shop in Adabraka in November 2024.
Speaking at the promotion ceremony, IGP Yohuno, accompanied by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the officers on their achievements.
He urged them to regard their promotion as a call to higher responsibility, leadership and accountability in the performance of their duties.
“The promotions you have received today are not just a recognition of past performance; they are a charge to continue upholding the highest standards of policing,” IGP Yohuno said.
The Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to rewarding merit and excellence, noting that such recognition is key to strengthening professionalism, boosting morale and enhancing effective policing across the country.
