The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has deployed a special investigations team comprising homicide detectives, forensic experts, and intelligence officers to assist the Ashanti Regional Police Command in probing the death of a Senegalese national, Cheith Toure, in Kumasi.
According to a police statement, preliminary investigations revealed that on October 16, one Issah, who claimed to be the deceased’s brother, took Toure to the Manhyia Hospital with severe abdominal injuries, alleging he had been involved in an accident.
Toure was later pronounced dead by hospital authorities, and his body deposited at the Ebenezer Mortuary at Tafo.
The police have assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to uncover the circumstances surrounding Toure’s death and bring any perpetrators to justice.
