The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has decorated Inspector Hance Atubra of the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters with his new rank of Chief Inspector.
Inspector Atubra was invited to the National Police Headquarters in Accra on Monday, August 31, 2026, where the IGP formally decorated him following his promotion.
The promotion was in recognition of his bravery and exceptional efforts in saving lives and protecting property during a fire outbreak at Aboso in the Western Region on August 26, 2026.
The IGP commended Inspector Atubra for his courage, quick response and dedication to duty during the incident.
Mr Yohuno said the officer’s actions exemplified the values of professionalism, courage and service expected of officers of the Ghana Police Service.
Inspector Atubra’s intervention during the fire outbreak earned him recognition for putting his life at risk to help save others and protect property.
The Police Administration said his promotion underscores its commitment to recognising officers who demonstrate exceptional bravery and dedication in the line of duty.
