IET-GH announces death of Executive Director Engr. Seth Ayim

The Institution of Engineering and Technology, Ghana (IET-GH) has announced the sudden death of its Executive Director, Engr. Seth Ayim, describing the loss as a devastating blow to the engineering fraternity and the institution as a whole.

In a statement dated February 2, 2026, the professional body confirmed that Engr. Ayim passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, sending shockwaves through its leadership, members, and partners.

According to IET-GH, the late engineer was more than an administrator; he was a committed professional whose leadership and dedication strengthened the organisation’s role in advancing engineering practice in Ghana.

“This heartbreaking loss has left us in shock and mourning. Engr. Seth Ayim was not only a dedicated leader but also a pillar of strength whose service, wisdom, and commitment will be greatly missed,” the statement said.

The institution noted that his passing leaves a deep void within the engineering community, particularly among young professionals who benefited from his mentorship and advocacy for innovation and professional development.

IET-GH added that details of funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course, while urging members and the public to keep the late executive’s family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult period.

The statement, signed by IET-GH President Engr. Wonder Davor, paid tribute to Engr. Ayim’s legacy of service and leadership, praying for the peaceful rest of his soul.

Engr. Seth Ayim served as Executive Director of IET-GH at a time when the institution was championing stronger professional standards, creativity, and technological advancement within Ghana’s engineering sector.
