Birmingham City have secured Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion for the remainder of the season.

The 21-year-old joins the Championship club after being recalled from his loan at French side Auxerre, where he featured 16 times in Ligue 1, contributing two assists.

Osman originally moved to Brighton from Danish outfit FC Nordsjaelland in 2024 for a reported £16 million. He spent much of last season on loan at Dutch club Feyenoord, making 32 appearances across all competitions.

During his Eredivisie campaign, he scored three goals and provided three assists in 22 league matches, while also appearing seven times in the UEFA Champions League.

Brighton’s decision to send Osman to Birmingham City reflects a desire for him to gain consistent game time and adapt to English football, with the Championship providing a platform for his continued development.

At St Andrew’s, Osman is expected to challenge first-team wingers Demarai Gray and Patrick Roberts for a starting spot in the second half of the season.

He is Birmingham City’s third loan signing from Brighton this campaign, following goalkeeper James Beadle and defender Eiran Cashin, who has since moved to Blackburn Rovers.

Osman is also the club’s third addition of the January transfer window, joining Kai Wagner and Jhon Solis in strengthening the squad.
