I want to build a team capable of winning titles – Nations FC boss Frimpong Manso

-

Nations FC have appointed Frimpong Manso as their new head coach, with the experienced tactician setting his sights on building a team capable of challenging for titles.

Manso takes over from Kasim Mingle, who was relieved of his duties following a 3-2 victory over Eleven Wonders in Matchday 7.

The change comes after Manso himself had been dismissed from Bibiani GoldStars following a 2-0 first-leg defeat to JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League.

Speaking at his unveiling, Manso outlined his vision for the club: “I want to build a team that is strong enough to win titles and also play good football.

“I believe in a team that fights. Football has evolved, and knowing how to play alone is not enough, but playing without the ball is the most important thing.

“We will look at it critically and get the best out of the players. We will deal with the two key aspects of the game – with and without the ball. We will emphasise to the players to get that concept,” he added.

Manso’s appointment marks a return to top-flight management and offers him a chance to reinforce his status as one of Ghana’s most seasoned coaches.

He will look to secure his first victory in charge when Nations FC travel to face Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Matchday 8.
