Former Education Minister and New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, says he prefers to share his ideas on improving Ghana’s education sector privately rather than in public discussions.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Dr. Opoku Prempeh explained that not every national issue should be debated in the media.

“I don’t think everything should be made public. I’d prefer to speak to the minister directly behind closed doors and have a proper discussion on our education,” he said.

He cautioned that a decline in the quality of education could have far-reaching consequences for the nation, stressing the importance of safeguarding the credibility of Ghana’s academic credentials.

“We need to maintain the standards of our education system for our certificates to be valued both in and outside Ghana,” he added.
