Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has disclosed that he has been a registered member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for over a decade.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie, the Kumawood star reflected on his political journey and what motivated him to formally join the party in 2010.
Mr. Beautiful revealed that his affiliation was inspired by the political philosophy of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. He said that reading Nkrumah’s book Voice From Conakry was pivotal in shaping his political convictions.
“That book opened my eyes to certain realities about leadership and governance,” he explained.
He further noted that beyond ideology, the NDC’s policy direction has consistently resonated with him, particularly its focus on social interventions.
“The NDC has policies that favour the poor and the needy in the country,” he said.
Mr. Beautiful added that the party’s governance approach and emphasis on social support systems have strengthened his loyalty over the years.
On the broader national economic climate, he observed that the situation now appears more predictable than it was two years ago.
“You can plan your budget today and stick to it, unlike two years ago when life was very expensive,” he remarked.
