Nigerian screen icon Shaffy Bello has opened up about her dating history, revealing that she once dated younger men purely for the fun of it.
In a recent interview, the ageless actress, now over 50, admitted that she finds it flattering when young men slide into her DMs.
“At that time, I was focused on enjoying the moment and exploring life’s lighter side—not on commitment or long-term expectations,” she explained.
Shaffy Bello added that as she’s grown older, her perspective on relationships has evolved.
“It happens. When you’re over 50 and young men say, ‘what’s up?’, it’s flattering. But some of them are badly behaved. I’ve done it before—when I did it, I was having fun. It was for a season, and that season is over,” she said.
Now, the celebrated actress says she is open to marriage again—but only with a more mature and redefined outlook.
However, she noted that traditional ideas of marriage are shifting and emphasized that she wouldn’t want to be boxed into the role of a conservative African wife.
