Nollywood actress Chizzy Alichi has shared an emotional account of her journey to motherhood, revealing that her newborn son was born prematurely at 30 weeks and spent nearly a month in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, the actress expressed profound gratitude to God for seeing her and her family through what she described as the most difficult period of her life.
According to her, the pregnancy was marked by serious medical concerns, which required frequent hospital visits, multiple scans, and extended periods of bed rest.
She disclosed that her son, Kenechukwu, spent 25 days in the NICU after birth—an experience that, she said, pushed her to her spiritual limits.
Chizzy resorted to intense prayer, joined multiple online prayer platforms, and even paid tithes to several churches in a desperate bid for divine intervention. She also increased her acts of charity and frequently visited chapels, leaning heavily on her Catholic faith.
The actress emotionally recalled praying with a portrait of her late father, whom she believed would return to her in the form of her child.
Now home and healthy, Chizzy describes her son as “perfect” and thanked her fans and loved ones for their support.
The revelation has touched many fans and fellow celebrities, with an outpouring of love and congratulatory messages flooding her social media.
