I am working to stay fit throughout the season – Norwich City star Forson Amankwah

Ghana international Forson Amankwah is determined to remain a key figure for Norwich City throughout the 2025/26 English Championship season.

After an impressive start following his transfer from Red Bull Salzburg last summer, Amankwah’s progress was unfortunately disrupted by injury.

The 22-year-old managed just 844 minutes of action across all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign.

As Norwich prepare to open their season against Millwall at Carrow Road, Amankwah is focused on maintaining his fitness and making a significant impact.

“If you’re a player and then you get injured, probably you feel bad because you can see your teammates are playing, and you’re outside just watching them. It hurts especially when the team is also not doing well, and you hope you want to help,” he told Flashscore.

The injury setback prompted the midfielder to rethink his training and recovery approach—a challenge he has fully embraced.

“I think I learnt a lot. It’s the first year, so it’s something I need to do for myself to prevent some injuries, so that’s what I’m working on.”

With renewed determination, Amankwah is poised to play a pivotal role for Norwich City in the season ahead.
