A psychologist, Derrick Oppong, has advised people to prioritize how they spend their weekends to reduce pressure and ease the transition into the workweek.
His comments come amid ongoing discussions about Mondays being particularly stressful, tightly scheduled, and often accompanied by anxiety and nervousness.
Speaking on the issue, Oppong explained that much of the pressure associated with Mondays is psychological. “Many people have conditioned their minds to believe that Mondays are naturally stressful, which creates unnecessary anxiety,” he said.
He added that inadequate rest over the weekend can also contribute to Monday stress. In some cases, a lack of passion or satisfaction with one’s job may further intensify these feelings.
The psychologist emphasized that effective time management throughout the week, including setting aside sufficient time for rest over weekends, can significantly reduce what many describe as Monday pressure.
