The family of late Abuakwa North Member of Parliament (MP), Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu is demanding the arrest of the pathologist who conducted autopsy on his body.
Uncle of the deceased, Kwasi Frimpong speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Friday said the arrest was necessary if the investigators are to succeed in tracing the suspected killers of the late MP.
“The pathologist should be arrested now to assist with investigations, his claim that the autopsy report is missing is unfounded and ought to be investigated…,” he appealed.
His appeal was in reaction to claims by the pathologist, Dr Lawrence Adusei that the autopsy report of the late JB Danquah-Adu was missing.
Dr Adusei told an Accra Central District Court that he could not provide the autopsy report of former MP, JB Danquah-Adu because the report is missing.
According to him, he could not find the report after thieves ransacked his house.
The Accra Central District Court summoned the pathologist who conducted the autopsy on Mr JB Danquah- Adu to appear before it and explain the reason for withholding the report.
The court presided over by Ms Arit Nsemoh pleaded with Dr Adusei to try and produce the report for the former MP since the progress of the case depends on the report.
This claim, the Uncle of the late MP said is unbelievable and hence demanded that the retired pathologist be arrested.
He further argued that the pathologist must be forced to produce the duplicate of the report if the original has been stolen.
“What has happened to the duplicate? I can conclude that the pathologist does not know his job …you are you being paid with tax payer’s money and you can fail this much…we won’t agree to this claim today or tomorrow…,” he insisted.
He further appealed to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to cause the Attorney General to step up investigations into the matter as ‘some people want to sweep things under the carpet.’
“The killers of JB Danquah would have been found by now in other settings, why have we left off the hook the people Sexy Don Don named? What about the initial report from DSP Dampare and Afia Tengey? We just can’t comprehend it,” he said.
