Former Ashanti Regional Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Muhammad Sani, has predicted that Special Prosecutor nominee, Martin A.B.K. Amidu will resign from his job after 6 months.
According to him, he (Amidu) is arrogant and a dictator and therefore would be forced to resign if his legal perspectives do not correspond with that of his team.

‘I know Amidu will start displaying his arrogance and will start having issues with his team so I can tell you on authority that he may even be forced to resign within 6 months of office”, he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
President Akufo-Addo’s nominee for Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu appeared before the Appointments Committee of Parliament to be vetted on Tuesday, 13th February 2018, despite a lawsuit challenging his nomination as Special Prosecutor.

The committee then unanimously approved Special Prosecutor nominee Martin Amidu after almost nine hours of vetting.
But Alhaji Muhammad Sani says despite his knowledge in the subject area, Mr Amidu was disrespectful to the committee with his mannerisms and that should be condemned.
He said the nominee was arrogant. “We all know his level of intelligence but his mannerisms were bad and he wanted to prove he knew better than all of them [members of the Committee],” he said.

He said there is nothing special about a prosecutor whose only duty is to investigate issues and prosecute accordingly.
“There is nothing special about a Prosecutor. If you omit the ‘special’, what is left is just a prosecutor. Even a police officer can prosecute and so it’s not news”, he said.
