A five-year-old girl whose name was given as Lordina has been burnt to death at Lomnava near Sowutuom in Accra.
According to an eyewitness account, the girl was sleeping in a kiosk when the unfortunate incident happened.
Speaking to Adom News’s Mubarak Yakubu, some of the residents indicated that Lordina was sleeping with her mom and brother when the fire ignited.
One of the resident added that, her mom woke her up to run for her life, thinking the girl had ran only to be stacked in the room.
All attempts to saved Lordina proved futile. She was later found together with some of the burnt wooden structures in the room.
“Her mom wasn’t aware. They were looking for her. Her mom saved only the junior one. She woke her up and asked her to go out. But after her mom came out with the little brother only to realize the little girl didn’t run” the resident said.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be known.
