Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia constituency in the Eastern Region, Baba Jamal has stated emphatically that he will personally lead a demonstration against former President John Dramani Mahama if he fails to contest the 2020 elections.
According to him, John Mahama is the obvious choice for the opposition NDC in the 2020 Presidential race and hence he can’t afford to disappoint the party.
“I will be the happiest person if Mahama contests the 2020 elections and win hands down. I know Mahama has not expressed his desire to contest but I will personally lead a demonstration against him and force him to contest,” he said.
Baba Jamal was speaking on Adom TV’s morning Show “Badwam” Thursday.
President Mahama lost in last year’s presidential elections to Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mahama polled 4,713,277 votes representing 44.40% of the total votes cast as against Akufo-Addo’s 5,716,026 votes representing 53.85%.
That notwithstanding, Baba Jamal indicated that he expects the ex-President to make a comeback in 2020 adding that he (Baba Jamal) would be hurt if he fails to contest the polls.
He insisted that Mahama will be ‘forced’ by party members to stage a comeback because he is the obvious choice to lead the NDC.
The former Akwatia MP was of the firm belief that former President Mahama will run on the ticket of the NDC due to his love for the party and the people of Ghana.
He again mentioned that the achievements of former President Mahama is comparable to none in terms of leaders of the country; thus making him the obvious choice for the party, especially when Ghanaians have already regretted electing President Akufo-Addo.

  1. Comment: I do agree what Baba jamal is saying. Ghanaians needed ex president John Mahama to come again. They can’t tolerant this cyborg economic management again. With what happened in during the Otumfo) mothers funeral clearly shown that we need him in 2020 if God permit. If he refused to contest, we will demonstrate against him.
