Homeopathic Practitioners Association congratulates Prof. Frimpong-Manso on FDA appointment

The Homeopathic Practitioners Association of Ghana has warmly congratulated Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Manso on his appointment as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), effective July 14, 2025.

This appointment marks a pivotal moment for Ghana’s healthcare system, and the homeopathic community has expressed strong optimism about the impact of his leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the Association, National President Dr. Adu Boateng praised Professor Frimpong-Manso’s “impressive wealth of experience, unparalleled expertise, and visionary leadership capabilities,” noting that these attributes make him well-suited to elevate the FDA’s role as Ghana’s foremost regulatory institution.

Dr. Boateng emphasized that Professor Frimpong-Manso assumes the role at a crucial time for public health, citing his distinguished background in pharmaceutical sciences and public health.

“At a time when the nation needs robust regulatory oversight and bold innovation in medicine, his leadership could not be more relevant,” Dr. Boateng said. “The COVID-19 pandemic taught us that regulatory bodies must be both vigilant and adaptable—qualities Professor Frimpong-Manso has consistently demonstrated.”

The Association also pledged full support and collaboration with the FDA, particularly in efforts to integrate complementary and alternative medicine—including homeopathy—into Ghana’s healthcare delivery system.

“As a renowned academic and regulatory expert, Professor Frimpong-Manso is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between conventional and alternative medicine,” Dr. Boateng noted.

Stakeholders across the health, pharmaceutical, and traditional medicine sectors have already welcomed the appointment, expressing hope for improvements in regulatory policy, quality control, and public trust in food and drug safety.

The leadership of the Homeopathic Practitioners Association—comprising Dr. Adu Boateng of Endpoint Homeopathic Clinic (President), Dr. Alex Kwame Appiah of Gewah Hospital (Vice President), and Dr. Ackah of Heartbeat Homeopathy (Secretary)—stands united in support of the new Acting CEO.

In closing, Dr. Boateng wished Professor Frimpong-Manso a successful tenure and reaffirmed the Association’s unwavering commitment to collaborative progress in healthcare delivery.
