Chiefs and residents of Akyem Asuboa, a farming community in the Asene-Manso-Akroso District of the Eastern Region, have organised a homecoming event to mobilise funds for development projects in the area.
The community lacks basic social amenities, including a market, youth recreational facilities, proper road networks and an approved town layout. Community leaders say these challenges are hindering socio-economic growth and have therefore called for self-help initiatives to complement government efforts.
Speaking to Adom News, President of the Akyem Asuboa Youth Association, Yaw Agyemang, stressed the need for unity and collective action to address the town’s development challenges. He explained that the absence of essential infrastructure is negatively affecting economic activities, making it imperative for residents to come together to drive progress.
Mr Agyemang appealed to residents, corporate organisations and philanthropists to support the initiative, noting that voluntary contributions and goodwill could significantly transform the community.
In a related appeal, the Chief of Akyem Asuboa, Nana Anim Darkwa II, urged all natives of the town to unite behind the community’s development agenda. He emphasised that meaningful progress can only be achieved through collective effort and active participation in initiatives aimed at improving living standards.
