The Ho Central Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Margaret Akua Dzogbewu-Arku, has donated 250 pieces of clothing and organised a feast for women in the constituency as part of activities to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day.
The initiative brought together women from various electoral areas within the constituency and aimed to support vulnerable women while fostering unity among the party’s women’s wing.
Speaking to Adom News at the event, Madam Dzogbewu-Arku highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day as a moment to celebrate women’s achievements and renew commitments to empower them socially and economically.
She emphasized that women play a vital role in national development and must be supported to reach their full potential. The donation of clothing was intended to ease burdens on those in need, while the feast offered an opportunity for interaction, encouragement, and solidarity among members.
Madam Dzogbewu-Arku also urged women to stay active in community and political activities, stressing that their voices are essential in decision-making processes at all levels.
Beneficiaries praised the gesture as timely and impactful, commending the organiser for her consistent efforts to support women and promote inclusiveness within the constituency.
The celebration forms part of broader NDC activities in Ho Central to recognise and uplift women, aligning with the global theme of International Women’s Day that emphasizes gender equality and women empowerment.
