Henry Asante Twum urges Black Stars to remain humble in World Cup qualifiers

Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has advised the Black Stars to remain humble as they resume their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign next month.

The senior national team recorded back-to-back victories over Chad and Madagascar in March, results that propelled them to the top of Group I with 15 points.

With four matches left to play, Ghana are well-positioned to secure a place at the tournament, which will be staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Asante Twum reminded the players and technical team that humility will be key as they chase qualification.

“The spirit of the nation is behind the Black Stars, but we will have to stay humble as we strive to secure the maximum points needed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup,” he said.

The Black Stars will return to action on Thursday, September 4, with an away clash against Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.

The squad is expected to open camp in Accra on Monday, September 1, to begin final preparations for the double-header.
