Captain Paul Forjoe, an aviation investigator and expert in aircraft accident analysis, has stated that the probe into the recent military helicopter crashes was conducted strictly in line with the Ghana Armed Forces’ (GAF) established protocols and internal investigation procedures.
Addressing a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, November 11, Capt. Forjoe explained that the investigative committee carried out a comprehensive assessment of all factors that could have contributed to the incident.
“The investigations were done in accordance with the procedures of the Ghana Armed Forces and standard internal procedures,” he affirmed.
He noted that the team’s work included a review of the crew’s qualifications, flight experience, and medical and psychological records to determine whether human factors played any role in the crash.
The expert added that such thorough checks are standard practice in aviation accident investigations and are meant to ensure that findings are credible, transparent, and lead to safety improvements.
The press conference followed the submission of the official report to the President by the investigative committee on Monday, November 10.
The presentation, led by Acting Minister for Defence, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, took place during a meeting of the National Security Council.
Meanwhile, Capt. Forjoe has assured the public that all findings from the inquiry will guide future reforms to strengthen flight safety and ensure the protection of personnel and assets within the GAF.
