A solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Jubilee House to honour the eight victims of the August 6 military helicopter crash was marked by a moment of distress when a grieving woman collapsed.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, is believed to be a relative of the late Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna.
She joined other family members on Friday at the ceremonial grounds in front of Jubilee House to lay flowers and light candles in memory of the victims.
As the group stood before the floral tributes and photographs of the deceased, tears streaming down their faces, the woman suddenly lost balance and began to fall backward.
Relatives quickly stepped in to prevent her from hitting the ground, after which she was rushed to a hospital for medical care.
The solemn wreath-laying ceremony, which began on Thursday, formed part of a three-day national mourning declared by President John Mahama.
Families, friends, and dignitaries have since visited the ceremonial grounds to pay tribute, placing flowers and lighting candles in memory of the departed.
The crash, which occurred in the Adansi Akrofuom District, has plunged the nation into mourning, with condolences pouring in from across Ghana and abroad.
