In the wake of a heartbreaking tragedy that claimed the lives of eight brave individuals, the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) is calling on Ghanaians to unite in compassion, solidarity, and national unity.
JUSAG President Samuel Otu expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the fallen as “heroes whose sacrifices must never be forgotten.”
Speaking at a solemn gathering to honour the deceased, Mr. Otu urged the nation to turn this moment of grief into a catalyst for collective strength and renewed patriotism.
“This is not just a loss for a single institution, but for the entire nation,” he said. “In times like these, we must put aside our differences—political, ethnic, and ideological—and stand as one people, bound by a common purpose and shared humanity.”
He emphasized that honoring the legacies of the fallen requires national peace, justice, and support for the families they left behind.
Mr. Otu also called for enhanced safety protocols and stronger support systems for frontline workers, especially those in public service, stressing that the sacrifices of the deceased must inspire reforms that protect and empower others in similar roles.
As the country mourns, JUSAG is working closely with the victims’ families to provide both emotional and financial support.
A nationwide memorial service is also being planned to celebrate the lives and dedication of these fallen heroes.
“This tragedy must not break us; it must build us,” Mr. Otu concluded. “Let it remind us that Ghana is strongest when we stand together.”
