Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, was among 12 new pilots who were given flying wings in November 2024

Flying Officer Mane-Twum Ampadu, one of the eight people confirmed dead in a military helicopter crash en route to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, was recently decorated with a flying wing badge.

The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, August 6, as the team was heading from Accra to attend the launch of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP) in Obuasi.

Checks by Myjoyonline.com reveal that the young pilot was among 12 new aviators who were presented with Aviator Wings or Air Crew Badges by former President Nana Akufo-Addo on November 29, 2024, after completing the requisite training.
