Two church buildings and several homes have collapsed in Obuasekrom, in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, following heavy rainfall, leaving many residents stranded and homeless.

The downpour, which occurred yesterday, was accompanied by strong winds that contributed to the destruction of the two churches and multiple houses.

Residents recounted how the rain and intense winds brought down the structures, forcing them to flee and seek shelter elsewhere.

Alexander Akwasi Yeboah, the Assemblyman for the Obuasekrom Electoral Area, has informed the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) about the crisis. He has made a heartfelt appeal for urgent support and relief items to assist the victims.
